pieces were normally designed on very
tight schedules which required working on several projects at a
time. I also designed several company “images” in the

successful campaigns resulting in print runs of 500 to 1,000,000
which were then distributed nationally. |

photographers, and musicians. Included also, a hotel, several academics,
and a seminary. Logo design, websites, brochures, stationary, and
newletters were designed and printed helping these clients establish

Working at a printing press
lead me to have a valuable understanding of the “back-end” of
the design process. I believe every designer should have an understanding
of the capabilities of the press and bindery. Whether I was running
a folder, a cutter or a stitcher-trimmer, I became aware of what
problems can arise at the end of the production and consequently
how to avoid these costly delays by designing it right the first
time. |
